Abdi İpekci Arena
Abdi Ipekçi Arena is located in Zeytinburnu right across the ancient city walls, in the vicinity of the airport (6 km.) and relatively close to the city center with many international five star hotels. It is easily reachable by public transportation, train, public bus or tram.
Internationally acclaimed as Turkey’s premier multi-purpose indoor sports arena, Abdi Ipekçi has also
hosted many national and international entertainment events since 1998 including The Depeche Mode– Exciter Tour, The Eurovision Song Contest, Phil Collins–First Farewell Tour besides many meetings of large volume. With a high seating capacity of 12.000 all with quality court view and an additional portable 1200 floor seats, it is ideally designed to host many different sports and entertainment events, conferences, large meetings, congresses, concerts, etc. An automatic curtain system can also reduce seating capacity to 5000 if necessary.
Abdi ‹pekçi Arena has a large indoor area of 2.000 m2 with a ceiling height of 17m. providing well welcomed flexibility for almost any kind of layout including the installation of stages of various sizes.
The four sided large video scoreboard, the acoustic sound system and the lighting system mounted in the roof structure are fully accessible from a catwalk system and allow instant transition from darkness to full brightness with practically unlimited possibilities for any kind of additions.
The skybox area containing audio and video controls is also suitable for the installation of a simultaneous translation system. Various multipurpose rooms including a press conference room for 50 people, 4 rooms of 30-40 m2 with WC and shower and 4 rooms of 16-20 m2 assist behind-the-stage
operations of the arena while an open parking lot for 1.300 cars, a VIP lounge for 150 persons, a Café
for 500 persons enhance visitor appreciation.
